Tupac's Biography By Year In 1971 Tupac Amaru Shakur was born in Brooklyn, New York (June 16th). At
that time his mother Afeni (member of the Black Panthers) was in jail on charges of conspiring to bomb several public areas in New York City. Tupac was named for the Inca chief "Shining Serpent". Shakur is
Arabic for thankful to God. His father wasn't around.
1983 Tupac made his acting debut in a production of Raisin in the Sun.
1985 Tupac moved to Baltimore with his mother and joined the High School for the
Performing Arts, where he acted in school plays.
1988 Tupac moved with his mother to Marin City, California. Tupac didn't finish high school and started to hang with the "wrong crowd" and started
selling drugs. By the way: Tupac was called The Infamous MC New York when he first moved to Marin City. In September Tupac's (step?)father, Mutulu Shakur is sentenced to 60 years in prison for his involvement in a
1981 armored-car robbery.
1990 Tupac was hired by Digital Underground as a roadie and dancer.
1991 (January 3) First song Tupac did was with Digital Underground called "Same Song" from
"This is an EP Release". Tupac's first movie was Nothing But Trouble in which he plays a rap singer together with Digital Underground.
In 1991 Tupac also started his movie-career by walking away
with a major role in Juice and did his first individual album 2Pacalypse Now (release: November 12). Shortly after the release of Tupacıs solo album, he files a $10 million lawsuit against the Oakland police for
alleged brutality following the arrest for jaywalking.
1992Release of Juice (January 17). In April Ronald Ray Howard,19, shoots a Texas trooper and Howardıs attorney claims that Howard was incited by
2Pacalypse Now, which was in his tapedeck, to kill. August 22 Tupac had an altercation with some old acquaintances in Marin City, which results in the death of a 6-year-old bystander and the arrest of Tupac's half
brother, Maurice Harding, but he was released due to lack of evidence. In September Vice President Dan Quayle denounces 2Pacalypse Now by saying that it has no place in our society.
1993 Poetic Justice (July
23) followed and Tupac let everybody see his other side. Tupac also followed up with a new album Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. (February). Tupac was nominated for an American Music Award as best new rap hip hop
artist. March 13 Tupac got into an fight with a limo driver in Hollywood, who accused Tupac of using drugs in the car. Tupac got arrested but the charges were dropped. April Tupac is arrested again, this time for
taking a swing with a baseball bat at a local rapper during a concert, Tupac got sentenced to 10 days in prison. October 31 Tupac got arrested again, this time for allegedly shooting 2 off-duty Atlanta police
officers who were harassing a black motorist, but the charges were eventually dropped. November 18 Tupac is arrested and charged with sexual assault after a fan (a 19-year-old woman) was raped in his hotel room.
1994 March 10 Tupac got arrested once again for punching out director Allen Hughes after he got dropped from the motion picture Menace II Society and was sentenced to 15 days in prison. September 7 Two Milwaukee
tenns murdered a police officer and citeded Tupac's Souljah's Story as their inspiration. November 30 Tupac got shot 5 times when he was robbed of jewels for about $40,000 outside a recording studio (Times
Squarerecording studio) in midtown Manhattan, but survived the attack. Tupac checked himself out of the hospital less than 3 hours after surgery, the case still remains unsolved. The result of the trial of the
sexual assault: Tupac was sentenced to 1,5 to 4,5 years in prison. Tupac served 8 months of the sentence (in New Yorkıs Rikers Island penitentiary).(February 14, 1995) Tupac had permission to play in the basketball
drama Above The Rim while he was doing time in prison. Tupac also acted in the thriller Bullet that year, but because of being "too hardcore" it never got to the cinema's.
With Thug Life Tupac put an album together: Thug Life Volume 1.
1995 During Tupac's in-prison-being-life he worked on the album Me Against The World and it got released (April 1), went to No. 1 ( for 4 weeks) and
sold over 2 million copies. May: Tupac maries Keisha Morris. October: Tupac was released out of jail after Suge Knight paid his bail (1,4 million $). Tupac immediately flied to L.A to sign with Death Row and start
recording his fourth solo album, All Eyez On Me.
1996 Never before in Hip Hop history had there been a double CD released. All Eyez On Me (February 13) was the first. Up to date All Eyez On Me sold +/- 6 million
copies. March 29 Death Row employees and Bad Boy employees face off at the Soul Train awards in Los Angeles, words were exchanged and a gun was pulled. September 4 Tupac returned to New York for the MTV Music
Video Awards and got into a scuffle. September 7 Tupac was gunned down on a Las Vegas highway on his way to Suge's Club 662 after having just been at a Mike Tyson fight. Tupac died on September 13th. R.I.P.
