This is the website of Owen A. Neale. I have been a slider since the fall of 1988. I did take a couple of years off to help out with the arrival of 3 future sliders a home. I have driven down the track at C.O.P. over 300 times, and slid 250 times as a crewman. The only 2 crashes, as a crewman, occurred in October 1996 and December 1997. Thanks to my "brother" Michinori Fujioka. He forgot to turn right in corner 7, and Tim Mack who realized too late that the he had just missed the fastest line. The 1999-2000 was my best and worst. I set personal bests in both the 2 (58.43) and 4 man (57.35). I also crashed twice. Hopefully, I've learned my lessons. (I didn't I crashed again in 2001). I also finished 3rd overall in the Alberta Cup Racing Series. During the 2000 VISA Canadian Championships I finished 8th (with brakeman Cliff Carlson), and had personal best times on both runs. I was the highest ranked recreational slider in Canada. |
