Trustworthiness. Noble Ideals. Tact.

"The TNT Club was organized during the fall quarter of 1933, the last year that Harding was at Morrilton. Carroll Trent and Roy Ruckman took a lead in its organization. Walden Gardner, Gus Meuli, and John Stewart were charter members. Officers for 1933-34 were Roy Ruckman, President; Walden Gardner, Secretary/Treasurer; and Carroll Trent, Reporter.

I was the first member inducted after the move to Searcy and was inducted very early in the fall quarter, the only one inducted at the time although several others were inducted later in the quarter. The early induction was permissible because I had been a student the previous year.

Dr. R.R. Coons, Chairman of the Department of Physical Science, was the first sponsor and he served through the spring of 1937 when he went with Bro. Batsel Baxter to Los Angeles to help start Pepperdine College.

At Morilton, students would refer to the club as the "Taint Nothin To Us" club, although the TNT meant the same as it does today-Trustworthiness, Noble Ideals, and Tact. The colors then were Royal Blue and Silver or White. I do not recall the motif or insigna, but it definitely was not the stick of dynamite that adorns pledges' heads in recent years.

The Club very quickly, within two or three years, had developed into one of the outstanding men's club on campus."

TNT has had many memorable leaders and sponsors, but no sponsor has given more than Dr. William W. Hollaway
