The University of Tennessee

I have accepted an offer from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville to be the new Interim Professor of Trombone for the upcoming Spring semester. This means that I will be leving my post as principal trombone with the Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale and as trombonist with the Lone Star Brass.
I have enjoyed my time here in Odessa, but am elated to return to my alma mater and take over for my former teacher and mentor, Don Hough. You can't replace a man like Don. He has been at UTK for 42.5 years, and I have some huge shoes to fill in assuming his positon. I eagerly anticipate the challenge!

Gainful Employment!

I am happy to report that I won the principal trombone position with the Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestra and Chorale. I will begin playing with the MOSC in August. In addition to my symphony position, I will also serve as the trombonist with the Lone Star Brass. I will also be teaching privately in the Midland-Odessa area. My wife Christa will be serving as the second clarinet payer with the MOSC and will be teaching privately as well.

Thanks so much for all of those of you who have believed in us to this point. Your support is invaluable to our success.

Arrangement Negotiations

Two of my trombone choir arrangements are in negotiations for publication. The two works; Paul Dukas' Fanfare pour Preceder "LA PERI" and Mahler's "Urlicht" from Des Knaben Wunderhorn, have been submitted to Ensemble Publications for review. As soon as a decision is rendered, I'll update the site.
