A Long Story About Why I Made This Page:
I wouldn't exactly describe myself as the founder of the internet, but I always thought it was pretty darn cool. I got this Yahoo! accout -- ms_calculus -- in, oh, 1996, maybe?, and I started making ridiculous, silly homepages around the same time. (I'll date myself by admitting that I was a teenager then.) To my great surprise, I've discovered that I still have a lot of those old pages, or pieces of them. So I'm going to try to collect them all in some neat way, label them in little folders by year with all of the relevant files, and display them in an organized fashion so I can see my history (and, since I'm apparantly publishing it, so can you). What's cool is that these pages were not designed with the purpose of being saved or displayed in any way, so they're a pretty accurate representation of me at various stages of my life. We all just have to get over how incredibly cheesy I used to be, realize that really nothing's changed since I'm making this page, and enjoy at face value. When I get organized, I'll make nice little frames for navigation, but until then, I'll just open the old pages in new windows. Here we go.
- 1997: My sophomore year of college. This isn't the first page I ever made, but it's going to take me some time to find that one, so it's the earliest I have on hand right now. It's all WYSIWYG.

- 1999: My senior year of college. Still in a WYSIWYG editor.

- 2000: The summer between college and grad school. Two relevant things happened that summer: I learned HTML (finally!), and I decided that I liked "The X-Files". Consequently, I made an X-Files webpage.

- 2000: Same summer. I had a friend working on a project that involved female folk singers, and collecting song lyrics by female folk singers of the 90's (not all of them, just a couple) was a hobby of mine, so I decided to make her a webpage.

- 2000: My first year of grad school. I decided that, armed with my new knowledge of HTML, I would inform the world about my opinions on various and sundry topics. I got bored and never finished it, but here, preserved for the sake of history, is my How-To Guide To Life.

- 2002: The Yellow Page. It has a splash page on the geocities server which is a redirect to the UVM server.

- 2004: My most recent page, in purple. I don't really believe in frames, but I thought it'd be a nice experiment.

- Home: The lovely Black and White beginning to this page.
- Photographs: The odd photo of Yours Truly, for the purpose of bringing old friends up-to-speed on what I look like now.
More to come...
