Fear Factory has become one of the most popular metal bands today, having won a loyal
following through constant touring. The band formed in Los Angeles in late 1990, and
in 1992 recorded their debut album, Soul of a New Machine. Their second album, Fear Is the
Mindkiller (1993) added techo/industrial elements into their speed metal base. The album
was well received and helped to increase their fan base. 1995’s Demanufacture became a
breakthrough for the band and marked the beginning of their regimen of non-stop touring.
