A quick glance at our "political application of principles" page, or the "Six Libertarian Principles" page might enrage or horrify the casual reader. After all, aren't we against everything the government does? Aren't we just ANTI- GOVERNMENT? Shouldn't we all be living in Montana? What will happen to all the poor people if we take away public housing, education, health care, etc. etc? On the local level, aren't we anti- minority, anti -arts, theater and classical music, because we want to abolish all public funding of these activities? Aren't we indeed anti -children because we wish to end government subsidy of day- care centers? We must also be anti- roads because we want the government out of the road building business, let alone the Trade and Maritime Resort building business! The same applies to fire departments, ( we obviously favor everyone's house burning down) and the public transportation system. LETS FACE IT, WE'RE JUST A BUNCH OF ANTI-SOCIAL MISFITS; DRUG, GUN AND PORNO LOVING GOVERNMENT HATERS WHO WEAR CAMOUFLAGE OUTFITS AND YELL "DON'T TREAD ON ME!"

Well, we're sorry to burst your bubble, but you are very wrong. Libertarians in fact, want MORE of all the things mentioned before the large capital letters. But we believe that you and I are never going to get them unless we get the government OUT of all these areas and more, until it is involved only in the Police, courts and national defense.

To make ourselves perfectly clear: we want more, cheaper and better education, a much cleaner environment, safer foods, more, better, cheaper roads, less poverty, better health care, child care, etc. etc. etc. you name it , we want more, better, cheaper! After all, it's "the American Way." So you and I actually want the same things, we just disagree on how we are going to get them.
