Special Events
Our signature event is the Florida Renaissance Festival. A five weekend fair that brings the majesty and grace of the 16th Century Europe to life. Living History Members bring excitement to the streets and pavillions of the festival with their performance, dance and storytelling skill that they have learned in classes. Members that are not performance oriented can participate in many other ways.
Workshops
Living History is constantly bringing in new instructors willing to teach skills and trades of the Renaissance Period. From weaving to juggling to leather crafts, members get hands on opportunities to learn about the past. Members have been known to design and build their own costumes after attending a Living History workship. Performing arts workshops, such as improvisation, acting, dancing and caroling are happening throughout the year.
Lectures
Interested in learning history and lifestyles of the past? Living History brings in guest lecturers to discuss the intricacies and intrigue of royalty, peasant, knight and Knave.
School Programs
Living History provides to the local schools a unique outreach program. Bringing festival performers, street theatre, music and art to interested educators. Our professional performers travel to local Schools teaching skills about the 16th century.
Social Events
Getting together just ot have fun is a staple of Living History. Trips along with picnincs, parties, and pub sings combine to make Living History a year round experience.
Promotions
Our members are often found promoting all sorts of activities. Whether it's a sneak preview of a major motion picture or the opening of the Florida Renaissance Festival or a community outreach program, we are there in costume, bringing the event to life.
