The cold wind blew through The depths of the night Chilling with its touch A silent figure shivered through the darkness Seeking warmth and light She thought that she had found it once But alas, the girl was wrong If only she had known then That it was only an illusion. So she walked on, still seeking Never surrendering to the despair That threatened to overwhelm her. Refusing to give in and Go silently into the night, She kept battling the darkness. Her fight was one that she could never win But that was a lesson that she Had not yet learned. After many years, though, And many illusions of light Many instances of warmth, never Substantial, never lasting, She finally realized that Light and warmth never really existed All of life is a cold, eternal night.

Will You Be There?
