As a part of Agricultural Extension practical classes, the Department of Agricultural
Extension Education arranges regular field visits with the undergraduate students
of different Faculties of the BAU. Besides, at the end of each academic session and
before holding the final examination at Bachelors level, all the students are taken
to the Thana Headquarters according to different practical groups. The students stay
there for at least a week and acquire some practical experiences of all the development
activities of the Thana, particularly on different aspects of agriculture, livestock,
and fisheries. Two teachers accompany the students as field trip guides and stay with
the students in the field for the whole period. The Head of the department and Dean of
the respective Faculty usually supervise these field trips. All Thana level officers
actively cooperate and act as Trainer in the trip. The students visit the most
successful as well as unsuccessful demonstration plots of the nearby locality.
The students also observe the day-to-day activities of the relevant organizations
of the Thana.
