GENERAL INFORMATION


ACCOMODATIONS

Those wishing to stay at a hotel during the conference are encouraged to consider our conference site, the Howard Johnson Hotel and Convention Center. The hotel has blocked off a number of rooms and will keep these rooms for Conference participants through September 15th. The conference price per night is $52.00 for single occupancy, $60.00 for double, $10.00 for each additional person.

The Howard Johnson is located just off of Interstate 90 at LaCrosse St. They offer a swimming pool, restaurant, lounge, and exercise room. Adjacent and within walking distance is Westridge Mall.

CONFERENCE HOURS

The Conference runs from 8:00am – 5:00pm on Friday and Saturday, October 2nd and 3rd. Registration begins at 7:30am each day.

MEALS

Both days will have a Keynote address during the luncheon. There is no additional cost for these meals for Conference participants.

The Conference Banquet will be held on Friday evening at 7:00pm. Cost for individuals attending the banquet is $15.00 per person. The banquet will afford a unique opportunity for individuals to ask questions of a distinguished panel of experts including physicians, psychologists, educators, advocates and parents. The Conference banquet evening forum may also be counted as one contact hour toward recertification credits or BHSU college credits.

LDA MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS

Members of LDA-SD will receive a coupon for $5.00 to be used at our Bookstore with no minimum purchase required. These can be used toward books, pamphlets, cassettes or any other materials offered. The new membership year begins October 1. You can renew your membership while at the Conference.

BOOTH SPACE

Non profit agencies are offered space to present literature and other information to conference participants about the services provided by the agencies. The only cost is the cost of Conference Registration for at least one of the persons attending. If additional people are both staffing the booth and attending Conference activities then there is an additional $55.00 cost per person.
