Iraq is the indeed the cradle of civilization, its so anciently rooted colorful history had witnessed major turn points in the history of mankind. Writing was first born here, so did art and legislation. The Summerians, Akkadians, Babylonians, Hittitets, Kassittes, Assyrians, and Chaldeans have passed by this ancient land of Mesopotamia to create the greatest civilizations witnessed by humanity. The ancient Iraqis had left to the world the most unique traces of architecture and literature. In later times, Persians, Muslim Arabs, Turks, and the British have passed by this land.

Although it is an Arab country in terms of culture and geography, its uniqueness is mainly due to the colorful multicultural mosaic of Iraqi society.
