Rev. Richard Pot was born in Tasmania in 1972, but spent most of his childhood years in Perth, Western Australia, where his father was a Christian school teacher. After receiving a Christian education at local Reformed schools, he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Classical Greek at The University of Western Australia.
In 1993, Richard moved from Australia to the city of Hamilton in Ontario, Canada, in order to pursue the four year Master of Divinity programme at the Theological College of the Canadian Reformed Churches. After completing his studies at the Theological College in 1997, Richard was ordained as a Minister of the Word on September 28th, 1997. His first seven years of ministry were in the Orangeville Canadian Reformed Church. Since September 19th, 2004 he has been serving as minister of the Pilgrim Canadian Reformed Church of London, Ontario. He is also a member of the Committee for Contact with Churches in the Americas.
In July 1995, Richard married Monica de Vos, who was also born and raised in Australia. The Lord has blessed their marriage with five children, Byron (September, 1996), Kara (March, 1998), Nathan (June, 2000), Chantal (March, 2002), and Alyssa (April, 2004). The Pot family lives in the city of London, Ontario, Canada.
