The screensaver files that you can download are stuffed in a .ZIP archive.
You can use PKUNZIP, WinZIP or another utility to unzip the file. Do not
attempt to install the Windows95 version if you are running Windows3.x
or vice versa. Double-clicking on the file will install a single .SCR file
in your C:\WINDOWS directory. After the screensaver is successfully installed,
the .EXE file can be safely deleted. The screensaver is optimized for monitors
viewing 256 colors. Then from the program manager, double-click on "Main,"
then "Control Panels," and finally, double-click on "Desktop." From the
Desktop control panel, you may choose the wallpaper image you placed in
your Windows directory. From the control panel, you can also choose whether
the image will be tiled (repeating) or centered. Choose "tiled" for the
tiled pattern and "centered" for the larger image. The original .ZIP files
can be deleted after the .bmp files have been placed in the C:\WINDOWS
directory.

The downloadable file is in a Stuffit archive which can be opened with
StuffitExpander. The archive contains a control panel which needs to be
placed in the Control Panels folder (inside the System Folder) on your
harddrive. You must then re-start your computer. If you have Afterdark
or Dark Side of the Mac©, they will need to be disabled in order for
the screensaver to run properly. If you have other screensaver control
panels that were downloaded from FRANCE 98 in the past, only the first
one listed alphabetically in the Control Panel will activate. To run other
screensavers without re-starting your computer each time, simply remove
all the FRANCE 98 screensaver control panels that alphabetically precede
the one you wish to view and select the screensaver from the Control Panels
under the Apple Menu. The screensaver is optimized for monitors viewing
256 colors and can run on PowerMacs or 68K models.
