This series of pages is very much a work in progress - many sections are
missing or incomplete. Please bear with us as we put everything
together.

This volume has been prepared as a reference of Weavercraft knowledge both to
provide Weavers with the IC knowledge they would need when going about their
daily work, and to provide information to anyone else who may be interested.
Those wanting to know more about Pernese clothing, tapestries, etc. can look
here to get specifics.
This Weavercraft encyclopedia has been made as comprehensive as possible,
given the large number of interrelated subjects it needs to cover. For
help in finding a subject, there is an
index
available.
Information on who helped put together this reference material can be
seen in the
credits.

This reference volume could not possibly have been completed without the
invaluable information contained in The Dragonlover's Guide to
Pern (DLG) by Jody Lynn Nye, Columbia House's 26-volume The
Complete Encyclopedia of Crafts, or the Victoria and Albert Museum's
500 Years of Fashion, not to mention all of
McCaffrey's Pern novels and short stories. My own The Concise English
Dictionary, revised edition by New Burlington Books and Webster's New
World Thesaurus also came very much in handy.
Due credit must also be given to the following people: Lenore, for coming up
with the original text for the Weavercraft's infobot material, parts of which
can now be found the
knitting patterns,
general information,
and
Pernese clothing
information sections. Judil, for helping Lenore by pointing out
relevant bits in the DLG. Tiercel, who patiently accepted many
drafts of Lenore's text. And Amina, whose wonderful work on her dye tent was
fabulously helpful for the
dyes and herbs
section.
