What Is Volkssporting/Volksmarching?
A Volkssporting event is an organized walk, bike, swim, or cross-country ski designed to appeal to everyone of all ages. Events are non-competitive, and participants proceed at their own pace. Everyone completing an event is a winner.
All participants receive a "start card" that is stamped at check points along the route. Individuals may participate free-of-charge or purchase their start card for enrolling in our awards program. Awards are earned by accumulating stamps in event and/or distance record books. The award for completion of a book is a certificate, a hat pin, and a patch (included in the cost of the record books). (Click on "thumbnail" picture below to enlarge picture of various hat pins and patches. Then click on "Back" arrow above, to return.
) There is no time-limit for completion of your record books.
