Canoe Trip Chronicles
Prior to 1992 their was Stan "Dad" Hatfield’s trip(s) with "Pard" circa 1951, the Boy Scout trip lead by scoutmaster Stan, featuring the antics of "Doc" Swanson circa 1975 as well as several undocumented trips down Smith Creek mainly featuring under-aged drinking mixed with large fires and gun play. Beginning in 1992, a well outfitted band of expert canoeists started what is now know as lollacanooza. An annual memorial day trip down the North River, a fine stream emptying into the Northern end of Willapa Bay in Pacific county, Washington State, USA. This is their story…
