Save Our Home
These wonderful creatures belong to the ages, the Native Americans performed songs about them, dedicated dances to them, and even worshipped them as gods. And now perhaps today they are in more need of our protection than ever before. With the constant clearing of our forests the natural habitiat of the wolf is disappearing, their natural prey is leaving, and they are starving. The American Grey Wolf is perhaps the most misunderstood animal in this country. Far from being the vicious predator of cattle, it is perhaps the most noble of the forest creatures. While true the occasional piece of livestock falls prey to a wolf, this only happens when the wolf is hungry and it's natural prey is gone. Wolves mate for life, and they care for their young until the pups are able to fend for themselves which sometimes can be a long time. The whole pack is based upon a hiericial stucture with a dominant male and female, these are usually the only pair that are capable of having any pups. The whole pack takes part in the raising of the new pups, their teaching, how to hunt, and how to play. To see these magnificent animals in their natural habitat is truly something to behold, they speak of a quiet nobility, and are truly the embodiment of the Spirit of the Forest.
