The full story, how it started

A proposal to form an association stemmed from a perceived threat to the future of Sherston allotments. This met with much opposition from allotment holders, villagers, and many other people who appreciate the value of a productive, green, open space among houses and opposite the village school.
The association presents a united front to look after the interests of allotment holders and the community in general. It will co-operate with Sherston Parish Council and other relevant organisations to preserve, enhance, and foster Sherston allotments, the allotments movement in general, and local gardens and gardeners.
Opportunities to organise and provide technical, commercial, financial and social activities can also be taken. The association has no part in granting allotment tenancies or setting rents levels, but may respond when consulted.
