A message from the Camp Commander From the Pen of Dan Faircloth It is my honor to continue as camp commander for the 2007 Our camp has some things already in the works planned for this new year. Such as the Spring Mt. festival in Petersburg WV in April. The annual Veterans Day weekend ceremonies at a local cemetary and to hope attend Heritage Geneology Fair in Edinburg Va. again in early April. We are 1 of 2 SUV camp in the Northern Shenendoah Valley and we are 1 of 4 in the State of West Virginia. We represent the Union Ancestors who fought in the valley. I am very proud of our SUV camp and look forward to bigger and better things. In early November we mustered with the Berkiey Border Guards #199 SCV for Veterans Day observances at 2 local cemetaries . It made me proud to honor our forefathers in such a respectful manner. We also participated in Rail Days here in Martinsburg in mid July again with members of SCV camp #199. I am sure we all did our ancestors proud. We have come a long way. for I am extremely proud of you all. Respectfully Submitted, Dan Faircloth Camp Commander 2007 |
