1986 - 2002
17 years of gatherings comes to an end!
Thanks for all the fun! I started caving in Missouri in 1982 and really enjoyed my 20 years in the state. When I helped start the ORC gatherings it was to help the north get along with the south, to help the MO's understand the ARK's and to get together with friends once a year. I tried to find a spot for us to gather that was safe and close to the underground action. I think for most of the gatherings I was successful and I really have some fond memories. I hope we were successful at promoting underground safety and conservation. The caving attitudes changed through the years, but the basic conservation rules still remain the same. Cave conservation awareness was a big concern of mine and I always tried to convey this attitude through the years during the ORC.
