Winning quite convincingly as well! (Has anyone got a photo?) Apparently the finals are on April 5th, so good luck to

Tiverton Pony club completed a successful day with an impressive performance in the Open Class of the Eventers' Challenge. The team of Alexa Batting, Rupert Batting, Cobi Lawrence, Carmen Lawrence, were all local Tiverton school pupils. The course started with a range of show jumps and then led straight into a timed phase over cross-country fences. The placing were based on the fastest clear round. Alexa set the scene with a good clear, Rupert followed with a faster time, taking some tight turns over the XC section, but had one fence down. Carmen kept the team's hopes alive with a strong fast clear round, taking chances wherever possible. Cobi rode well on her more inexperienced horse, also having one fence down. This consistent performance as a team secured 2nd place overall, one fence behind Polden Hills, but importantly 1 second faster than Weston Harriers. Team results: 1st Polden Hills; 2nd Tiverton; 3rd Weston Harriers; 4th Quantock; 5th Polden Hills. |

The junior team of Molly Watson (again!), Nell Baillie, Connie Isaac and Lucy Downs came 6th as a team in strong competition. Lucy did the open class individually and was placed 5th. This photo shows Lucy, Megan, Molly, Connie and Nell (click to see larger version) |
Lots of people did amazing things in 2008 (and in 2007 too), but this
home page gets a bit full if they are
all recorded here, so I've moved them to separate pages. See our "well
done" archive:
"Well done 2008"
"Well done 2007"
Please send entries, photos, etc for 2009!
Members should wear Pony Club sweatshirt with a shirt and Pony Club tie, jodhpurs (white/cream/navy/black), appropriate riding boots, gloves and the correct riding hat which has been tagged. For safety reasons, no jewellery (including sleeper earings) should be worn. Long hair should be tied back and put in a hair net. Also NO spurs unless instructors say you require them.
Please remember to arrive for your rallies in plenty of time so that you are on your pony/horse and ready to start the Rally at least 10 minutes before the Rally starts.
It is discourteous to your instructors to arrive late.
So that we can provide you with you top quality instruction, please book your place on rallies and training sessions no later than one week before so that we can ensure we have enough instructors available.
The rallies and training sessions are very popular and are often over-subscribed. If, for whatever reason, you are not able to attend any rally or training session that you have booked a place for, please telephone the organiser and cancel your place.
By not cancelling your place, you are denying someone else a chance to attend.
We are now running a Tiverton Pony Club Yearbook/Scrap book which will be an annual photographic record of all events run by Tiverton PC, Area competitions, Pony club camp, Easter Egg hunt etc and are hoping to find someone to take on this job.
Anyone interested to contact Iris Wotton (01398 351195) please. Either
an older PC member or a parent would be fine.
