Rural Fire was established late  in 1995, as the portal for a committee of Volunteer Fire Fighters, to appraise and commend Fire Service web sites.

The committee consists of  a minimum of 3 members, who each review a site, and decide whether to issue the Award!

Primarily, the Award is issued to private non-commercial sites, where usually the site owner has dedicated their server space and time towards the promotion of  Fire Services.
Consideration is given to content, appearance, load rates, information, and additional features.
