The Saginaw Bay Power Squadron is a member of the United States Power Squadrons, a non-profit fraternal organization dedicated to the promotion of safe boating through education
The Saginaw Bay (Michigan) Squadron draws its membership from an area including Tawas on the north, Gladwin on the west, Birch Run and Owosso on the south and to the east including all of the thumb.
Our members do most of their boating on Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron, with home ports ranging fron Port Austin on the east side of the bay, south through Caseville and Bay City
then north up the west side of the bay to Standish, Au Gres and Tawas, and even as far north as Cheboygan and Mackinac City.
Saginaw Bay provides three to five public boating classes each year usually starting in mid to late February after the local boat shows are over. These classes are held in Saginaw, Bay City, Midland and sometimes in Bad Axe and Corunna.
In addition we provide several boat handling, navigation and other courses for our membership. including weather, engine maintenance, marine electronics and sail.
