The Kitanglad Mountain Range which dominates the north-central portion of the Bukidnon Plateau plays a vital role in the socio-economic development of North and Central Mindanao. Aside from being the homeland of the Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICC) of Bukidnon, it is also a major watershed providing water for power generation, irrigation, and domestic use for the provinces of Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental. Mt. Kitanglad Range provides habitat for a sizable proportion of the fauna found in the Philippines, including a large portion of endemic species like the endangered Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi). Floral surveys also revealed the existence of rare and endangered species in the area.

Location

Mt. Kitanglad Natural Park is located in the North - Central portion of the Province of Bukidnon. The mountain range falls within the political boundaries of eight (8) municipalities in the Province of Bukidnon, namely:

a. Talakag b. Baungon c. Libona d. Manolo Fortich e. Sumilao f. Malaybalay g. Lantapan h. Impasug-ong
