Formallly named the Kiwanis Club of Greater Sacramento-American River, the club was formed April 3, 2003 by merging the Kiwanis Club of Sacramento, American River (Chartered October 14, 1954, First named the Greater North Area Kiwanis) and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Sacramento (Chartered June 28, 1948 as the Greater Broadway Kiwanis Club.)
