THE WYRD SISTERS

CBC Video shoot We are a trio of singer/songwriters, we specialize in trademark harmonies. Generally we travel with a full band, including viola and saxophone, but the words and voices are what come through first and foremost. We have 3 recordings, 2 of which have been nominated for Juno awards. A number of our songs have been covered and recorded by other artists and choirs. We have been included on some movie sound tracks, the latest being 'If It Ain't Here' on Virgin's Soundtrack of the movie "The Hanging Garden". If you have ever heard "The Warrior" sung at a vigil or other event, that's a tune we wrote. We've been across Canada several times, and have dipped down into the northern U.S. We've performed at the Kerrville Folk Fest in Texas,Pittsburg,the Hiawatha Festival and the North American Folk Alliance in Albuquerque,( to name a few) and most of the larger festivals in Canada. To date, our agents only book Canada, so any touring of the states has happened from promoters calling us directly.
We've chosen to remain independent, even though we've received some generous offers from record companies. We believe our music is for the people,by the people, that we represent the voices of our audience... and we want to keep it that way. We always appreciate hearing from our fans- stories, letters, comments and input, so feel free to contact us.
