What is Toastmasters?

Penang MCA Toastmasters is an affiliate of Toastmasters International. Toastmasters is the world's largest organization devoted to success through communication and leadership development.

Toastmasters was founded in 1924. It now has more than 7000 clubs in 50 countries. More than three million men and women have benefited from membership in Toastmasters clubs around the world. We are a training organization sponsored by MCA English Speaking Bureau. It was chartered in Jan 13, 1997.

The Mission of Penang MCA Toastmasters

To provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

Is fear in the way of your success? Are you afraid to stand up and speak your mind? If you are, you're not alone. According to The Book of Lists, speaking in public is the number one fear held by most people. But you can conquer that fear, painlessly and enjoyably. How? By becoming a member of the Penang MCA Toastmasters club.

LEARN BY DOING

In Toastmasters, you will practice what you've learned. Your own Toastmasters adviser will help you prepare for your short talks. You'll gain confidence in all aspects of communication, including written and impromptu speeches, audiovisual aids, body language and listening.

How will it help me?

Toastmasters will help you communicate more effectively at work and at home by learning to organize your thoughts and "think on your feet". By practicing speaking and listening skills, even your conversations at home with the family will be more rewarding and productive.
