Bilbo Baggins lived in a little village called Hobbiton, one of the many small villages in the Shire, land of the hobbits. His home, called Bag End, was actually a hole in the ground, at the top of "The Hill" which overlooked Hobbiton. Now hobbits are a small, good-natured, simple people, who would never go on adventures. Bilbo would much rather eat and drink with other hobbits or sit on the bench outside his home blowing smoke rings in the morning sun, after a second breakfast. |

He certainly wouldn't have a large get-together with a wizard and thirteen dwarves. Nor would he ever leave Bag End to journey to distant lands in search of gold and treasure. I'm quite sure that he could never have imagined visiting trolls, elves, goblins, wargs, eagles or other strange and frightening things. But he did... shortly after Gandalf the wizard stopped by one day. Follow along and share some of the unexpected highlights of his adventure. Click here to begin. |
