Its been a long time since I have updated this page, so I figured I would update you guys on what's going on around here. Been

working pretty hard the last couple weekends, On the Daytona I have installed the solid bubble strut from Kelly-Mulhern

Performance and it works much better and would recommend one to anyone to get one! Also have fixed my pop-up headlights

on the Daytona and installed another leather steering wheel and fixed my turn signal issues. I did just have a rubber brake line

break on Tuesday and ended breaking the steel brake line so I had to replace the whole line, And installing some APC seats.

As for the Stealth there has been some work, I have some Hankook Ventus II tires on the car, they look great, some used door

panels, new brake pads and bleed the front brakes, new wheel bearing and inner/outer seals, NGK Laser Platinum spark plugs

some Pioneer speakers in the door, have to rebuild the rears or get new ones, and have some tweeters to still install. Fuel Filter

and what I believe what has been my problem with the car bogging down since I've owned the car, I found a Fuel injector that

would intermittently open when it was hot so changed them all out with some others from that free engine and has been running

good for the last two days, oh yeah, also found my timing was at 20 BTDC so adjusted that back to 5 BTDC; and also rebuilt the

ECU,  just too bad my temp tags expired today :(

Hope you all had a great 4th of July! Yesterday I went and got a transmission filter kit and some ATF+3 Fluid for the Stealth

and started to drain the fluid, It was amazing that it filled the 10quart bucket to the top! And you could see it was the incorrect

fluid put in because it was a deeper red than ATF+3, So I have all that done and put in 5 quarts and started it up, what do ya

know, it does into gear and doesn't release shortly after! I was happy. I have ripped out some junk wiring from some LED

washer caps, My next step will probably be some tires on it because it really needs some.

        07-04-04

Well guys, I found a 92 Stealth ES DOHC V6 with F4A33-1 4 speed transmission for a great price, if you want to check it out

go to the stealth page and check it out, needs some cleaning but I just got it delivered from Chrome_Rust on 3SI forum's. I

Think It looks awesome. Has some mods done already but needs fixing, like most any car I can afford.

It's been a few days, long days it has seemed like too, I have switched positions at work this week from bench tech to road tech,

so I have not had a good chance to work on my project's. But tonight I got the engine up on the engine stand which is not fun

when you have no engine hoist and doing it by your self, It was funny when I ripped my shorts right down the friggin middle.

You will see new pictures up on my FTP and on part of the engine stand you will see a quarter of the shorts I was wearing.

These pictures are of the bottom of the engine with oil pan on and oil pan off. I did find that the '92 DOHC N/A engine uses

2 Bolt mains which should show that the block is pretty stout.

Also throughout the week I received my A543 Tranny Bracket from Kuchera Auto Inc. Bernie was a great guy to work with on

getting the part. Ahh yes, and a another good thing I got in the mail is my 40 Summit Bucks from Summit Racing, Now I just

have to figure out what I want to spend it all on!

         06-20-04

Well, after having some problems with a stripped head bolt, I got some more pictures up on my in the 620DOHC folder, these

pictures are of the blocks and a few of the heads, it looks like the second head has no valve damage, which is a good thing in

the way of trying to save some money. If you've found my site through somewhere else than the 3.0 mailinglist then you've been

missing the discussion's about the debates and info about the engines.

While looking at the blocks I have found some differences, the main is the tensioner pulley bolt goes straight into the block and

there is no machined hole for it on the SOHC block. And of course you will find some differences on the oil filter locations on the

blocks, I'm still pondering about if it is possible to clog the filter assembly on the DOHC block and tap the filter in from the SOHC

                blocks.

Oh, you will also see my new 1000lb capacity engine stand in the folder, I haven't used it yet, but looks like it should do the job fine,

I also got some Impact sockets, Adapter sockets, and a new Pneumatic 70peice air kit.

         06-18-04

Recompressed all pictures on my FTP, trimmed off 18mb of fat (and you thought TRIM SPA worked for Anna Nicole Smith) from

28mb to 10mb, there is very little loss in image quality.

        06-17-04

Today I received my Bubble Strut mount from Kelly-Mulhern Performance, I bet it performs as good as it looks, They also sent me a

a template for the K-member for free, so this takes out the guess work for the size of the brackets to make. I would also rate

customer service as a 10, These guy's/gals are prompt and courteous! It was a pleasure to do business with them.

        06-15-04

Well, anyone have a A543/A520/A523 or tranny mounting bracket that is the same for sale? I need it ASAP! If you live near copley

Ohio I could pick it up from ya. E-mail me if you have one.

I told you guys I would look to see if that oil drain plug went all the way into the block, and the good news is that it does, Atleast in the

1992 block. I have pictures up here for you guys to see. More will come!

        06-13-04

Got some pictures with the camera, they are on my FTP site of course, I was looking some more at it, I took the DOHC tranny

plate off and mounted it up to the SOHC block, perfect fit! From there searching around, the only difference found is the Knock

sensor bracket, it looks like it could still be fitted in but fabrication would be needed. I was searching around for some more and

found that there is a Oil drain hole on one side of the block while its not on the other side, this is on purpose, I just have to make

sure that it goes all the way down to the oil pan on the SOHC block, which I will check soon.

Finally got around to working on the tearing the DOHC engine down some, I only pulled one head but figured that would tell me a lot,

I found that when the head was pulled that the mounting points, water passages all looked the same, I even have the headgaskets

together to show that they have very small differences and even in that, what matters in the blocks are the same, I also found that the

lower intake manifold is able to be reversed by 180* degrees, and what that means is that we can use intake plenum with the heads

on our car and it will still look like it would as if you had it in a Stealth/3kGT. I have updated pictures on my FTP site with what I've

found. You can see for yourself that we could probably use our lower half and even leave it sitting the same way with a A543 tranny

and just swap out the top half and then if at most fabricate the exhaust manifolds and possibly the passenger side mount. Stay tuned

folks because it looks like we might be in for a treat in the 3.0 community!

        06-06-04

Today I had to help with the F150 pickup, replaced the driver side fender, rock guard, and headlight bezel's, after working on

the ford I'm glad that I don't own one, too much work in order to just pull the fender.

Found some pictures over on 3si of the DOHC heads and pistons and put them on my FTP site. This should hold you over until

I have the chance to tear down the engine and compare, if you look at the DOHC heads and the SOHC heads you can see

most of the water passages are almost the same but at one side they look different. I will investigate it more when I get a chance.

        06-05-04

Took alot of pictures of the SOHC engine torn down today and some of the DOHC mostly together, will have pictures for now

on my FTP page, my ftp is on my home computer but that shouldn't be too bad for now.

Summit Racing has a event going on in the parking lot of the store, will try to check that out tomorrow and get some pics.

        06-03-04

RogueTrip's Place goes under Prototype Construction, More to change, more to come as I learn more about web page design

                and 3.0's

        06-01-04

Mike Grant's most righteous TIII Daytona is in July 04 issue of Sport Compact Car, I would say pickup a copy for yourself and to

support SCC, you can check out the article on www.goeslikehell.com. You can also check out Grants page.

        05-31-04

Looking around on www.3si.org forums I found a 3.0 DOHC and automatic transmission in Ohio, mike was giving it away for

free, so I picked that baby up, The belt slipped on it, valves are probably wasted on it, but my main reason was to do some

research for myself to see if anything is usable on the 3.0 SOHC engine. I will be tearing it down this weekend.
