Sorry to trick you like that. I needed a lure to get you here so that I could explain my point. If you came here from a search engine, then you are probably a Star Control fan. If not, then I suggest that you take a look around and download a few demos before getting down to business. The reason that I'm writing this is to do two things: to try to show that so-called "little people" can make a difference, and to make one of the greatest stories out there into what could be the next Star Wars.
The computer game Star Control 2 has one of the best plots ever conceived. Not only is it rich in plot twists, mysteries, and creativity, but the character developement in the story is astounding. I know that movies about video games have failed before (Super Mario Brothers: The Movie), but this game is more story than game. I prefer to think of it more like an intereactive book, in which the suspense is real because the next part of the story isn't awaiting you on the next page...it could be anywhere in the galaxy.
How can Hollywood make movies like The Cable Guy and Ishtar, yet not notice a wonderful story right in front of their faces? I'm sure that George Lucas, creator of Star Wars, has heard of the Star Control series. Lucas Arts is a rival company to Accolade.
Violence and profanity have plagued America's Movie theaters for decades now, and look what it has done: the crime rate is up, kids are being desensitized to these things, and for every violent/inappropriate movie that society accepts, two more even more violent or inappropriate movies pop up, paving the way for more. Isn't it time we started telling good, clever stories, like Star Control 2?

My mission: to bring this story to Hollywood's attention
And I need your help!

Without your support of this "petition," there is a very small chance of this becoming a reality!
