*****************PRESS GATHER TO WITNESS A NEW DAWN**********************

A frenzy surrounded the first press  conference of new
AFFL Commisioner Andrew Jackson. It had been
roumored for weeks that Jackson and his consortium of
Russian, American and British businessmen planned to
take over the NFL and rename and revitalise it. Many
critics had laughed this off and dismissed as 'toilet talk'.
It emerged today that these were more than rumours. A
price of $4.5 billion had been agreed upon, and that the
takeover would happen within the next few weeks. Jackson
used this press conference to reassure fans, 'I will make it
clear from day 1 that i intend to stay true to the heritage of
this franchise' He went on to discuss the issues of
ownership, ;All franchises now reuqire owners, we will negotiate on what we believe each franchise is worth, and we will produce an official list of franchise valuations in the near future' Jackson was also quick to emphasiize that there would be no roster changes in the AFFL from those in the AFFL, and that head coaches would be allowed to retain their jobs at the new owners' discretion. The new commisioner went on to discuss his future plans for the league, 'I aim to make football an even bigger and more internationally renound brand, this is a business and we will run it like one'. This was only a press conference to confirm the purchase of the NFL, and Jackson kept things fairly brief, he left with reporters wanting to no more, Jackson has already confirmed that a Press Conference will be made in the next couple of weeks, laying out the official blueprint of the league. Reporters were advised to continue to check the league's new website for information on the league as it would be 'updated regularly' according to Jackson.
Reaction was expected to be mixed within the world of Amercan Football, the first man to speak out and welcome the new owner was Miami Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt.

What is for sure though is that the world of football will never be the same again...

'I would just like to take this opportunity to welcome the new owners of this franchise, Mr Jackson and his associates, it is great to see some fresh faces in the front office and the possibilites are endless with this kind of enthusiasm for the game of football'
However it is certainly not all hugs and kisses from the Football world, the New York Giants organisation has publicly spoken out against the takeover. An insider said,
'We are opposed to this predatory takeover, we think   that this could spell the end for football as a whole, we will      be discussing this indepth at the General meeting later this  month'
