1.Houston Texans: QB David Carr, Fresno State
All that’s left is to make it official.
2.Carolina Panthers: DE Julius Peppers, North Carolina
Best athlete in the draft in terms of raw skill
3.Detroit Lions: CB Quentin Jammer, Texas
The name says it all. He can cover anyone.
4.Buffalo Bills: OT Mike Williams, Texas
Arguably best tackle in the draft, and Bills O-line is monumentally bad.
5.San Diego Chargers: OT Bryant McKinney, Miami
They have an O-line almost as bad as Buffalo. Nuff said.
6.Dallas Cowboys: S Roy Williams, Oklahoma
Some say he will revolutionize the safety position. Could play corner to disguise coverages.
7.Minnesota Vikings: DT Ryan Sims, North Carolina
He will solidify a defensive line that has been addressed through free agency.
8.Kansas City Chiefs: WR Dante Stallworth, Tennessee
The urge to take Harrington will be controlled by the continuing development of Trent Green, and the release of Derrick Alexander.
9.Jacksonville Jaguars: DT Albert Haynesworth, Tennessee
So many holes they might as well pick out of a hat.
10.Cincinnati Bengals: QB Joey Harrington, Oregon
Two words: Jon Kitna. They have no QB of the future, and Harrington is a good one.
11.Indianapolis
Colts: CB Phillip Buchanon,
Miami
Again, so many
defensive holes they’ll will take the best defensive player available.
12.Arizona
Cardinals: DT Wendall
Bryant, Wisconsin
Could play end or
tackle, and the Cards need a pass rush threat.
13.New Orleans
Saints: (possible trade
down) DT John Henderson, Tennessee
The Saints need to
replace end Joe Johnson, who left via free agency.
14. Tennessee
Titans: WR Ashley Lelie,
Hawaii
The Titans need to
upgrade their receivers, and Lelie has become the 2nd best WR
prospect with his combine workouts.
15.New York
Giants: TE Jeremy Shockey,
Miami
This guy is the
next Tony Gonzales, and my favorite player in this year’s draft.
16.Cleveland
Browns: RB T.J. Duckett,
Michigan State
With Duckett the
Browns will not have to go to a committee of backs anymore.
17.Atlanta
Falcons: WR Jabar Gaffney,
Florida
With Stallworth and
Lelie projected off the boards, the Falcons will go with the next best
available.
18.Washington
Redskins: OT Levi Jones,
Arizona State
A better O-line
makes Stephen Davis unstoppable, and the Danny Weurfel the player he was in
university. Maybe not.
19.Denver
Broncos: (possible trade
down) TE Daniel Graham, Colorado
Coveted Ashley
Lelie, but Sharpe cant play forever, and may not have much left.
20.Seattle
Seahawks: OG Toniu Fonoti,
Nebraska
Better O-line makes
Trent Dilfer almost worth it.
21.Oakland
Raiders: DE Charles Grant,
Georgia
Slipped a few
rounds, but Oakland FINALLY makes a good pick.
22.New York
Jets: CB Lito Sheppard,
Florida
Even with Aaron
Beasley, Jets still need coverage help, and a solid future.
23.Oakland
Raiders: WR Antonio Bryant,
Pittsburgh
Tim Brown and Jerry
Rice only have so much left in those old bones.
24.Baltimore
Ravens: DE Kalimba Edwards,
South Carolina
The Ravens have a
massive rebuilding project on D, and a solid end is a good way to start.
25.New Orleans
Saints: RB William Green,
Boston College
Deuce(s) are wild,
so Saints should have a little insurance just in case.
26.Philadelphia
Eagles: RB DeShawn Foster,
UCLA
More weapons around
McNabb means more dangerous offence, which is scary.
27.San Francisco
49’ers: CB Mike Rumph,
Miami
Playing with the
Rams is a good enough reason to add corner depth.
28.Green Bay
Packers: LB Napolean
Harris, Northwestern
If he falls this
far it will be a huge steal. Good guy to replace Bernardo Harris.
29.Chicago
Bears: WR Josh Reed, LSU
Terrell and Bryant
will be an explosive combination someday.
30.Pittsburgh
Steelers: OT Andre Gurode,
Colorado
More O-line depth
could translate into MVP season for Kordell.
31.St. Louis
Rams: LB Saleem Rasheed,
Alabama
Could draft a WR,
but they need to replace the departed Mark Fields. Rasheed cold be too small to
play anything but weakside LB though.
32.New England
Patriots: DE Dwight
Freeney, Syracuse
Super Bowl champs
have to replace Brandon Mitchell, and Freeney is a very underrated player.
