Raiden has been the best made shooter ever developed by Seibu Kaihatsu in the arcades and for the video game consoles that it was made for. It still is. It doesn't have a 3D interactive shoot em up type gameplay like games like DOOM, Wolfenstein3D, Foresaken, Tomb Raider, Twisted Metal, or Einhander, but it does have a classic, detailed, and very original graphics that are very good for a vertical shooter. The bosses are huge in this game, even though most of them don't quite take up more than a full screen, they are huge none the less and are really cool to watch explode when you fight them with hundreds of bullets being fired at you. Nothing quite like that feeling. The environments as well as the detail of all the enemy ships and the backgrounds are nicely done also because they have alot of color and realistic textures. Maybe not for the few Raiden games that were not made with too much detail, i.e.,TurboGraphic 16 or the Sega(8-bit or 16 bit?)(Has detail, but not much color use). Whatever game console that this game has been made for, all of them at least represent what the arcade was like. Raiden II was another yet more impressive version of Raiden that totally blew me away. Literally, it blew me away while playing the game, the little red or blue ship that was surrounded by the thousands and thousands of ships and huge weapons that had only one goal in the game to end your game. This game was like Raiden except it was Raiden on drugs. High usage of drugs. All the enemies were bigger, faster, harder, and more powerful than the first Raiden; the bosses were mega-huge in some levels, the explosions were more massive and detailed when something was destroyed; and besides having way more background and level detail, your weapons that YOU used to destroy the Alien Enemy was impressive. How many fighter jets do you see shooting a huge purple or blue lighting blast that was the size of a small town? This, the music, and the gameplay will always be cool, besides some minor music flaws, and will always be the best classic and unique shooter.

I now have in here a cool section about the game, Einhander, along with this Raiden Info and stuff. This section has info, images, graphics and cool music clips from Einhander, the coolest 3D and 2D combined shooter made for the PlayStation. It doesn't beat Raiden, but it's up there with it!
