Mt. Rainer Alert
The Official Website Devoted to Alerting the People of Tacoma, WA of the Probability of an Eruption from Mt. Rainer

THE LATEST NEWS

With the temperature of the mountain increasing last night, the United States Geological Survey has upgraded the alert from VERY UNLIKELY to UNLIKELY.  Specifically, they believe there is around a 27% chance Mt. Rainer will erupt.  This figure has been calculated by accessing many of the mountains current conditions and its history.  There is no need to evacuate just as yet.  This alert upgrade is simply to let the public to prepare in case another upgrade (SOMEWHAT LIKELY) were to occur.  Right now, there are no major signs that Rainer will in fact erupt, just a few irregularities which occur often in dormant volcanoes without any eruption as a result.
