@ Jimmy's Uptown |
The Flux has certainly honed their floor show, bringing their socially conscious rhyme to the front, with a professionalism and show-womanship reserved for more seasoned artists. Uptown's crowd showed love and enthusiasm for the duo, when they were unleashed on their own for a brief solo cameo during Felicia's set. 360 had control of the night, also, backing up the Philly duo's lyrical grooves with their own funky sounds. Will Lee (Letterman Show) filled in on bass, as Tay and Tysh spit crowd favorite Luminous on Twist. Felicia impressed the crowd, givin' the New Yorkers a little bit more to marinate on, when Tay asked for "a little scratchin' up in the mix," by actually replicating the sound on her electric guitar. Yes, talent definitely does run in the family! Everyone knows that the New York crowd doesn't get started until about midnight. So, while the first set was deemed more casual for an intimate crowd, the second set incited a rush to the dance floor in the ultra packed club. The duo even joined Felicia and 360, as they closed out the show, claiming that, yes, they did indeed "have the funk!" After the gig, The Flux greeted many well-wishers and CD seekers. Perhaps Prince was right, when he said, "All the Critics love you in New York." The Flux is currently working on new material for their sophomore independent release. Remember, The Flux has an independently produced, full-length CD for sale--They Walk Among Us. For your copy of the CD, write to us or come check out a show. We always bring extras just for you! Just confirmed! Dates in September with Chuck D and Dead Prez! As Tysha says, " . . . this is no joke! . . . " Stay tuned for more details, and, as always, peace and much positivity! |
