Welcome to the Official Homepage of Jan Hellriegel, a gifted New
Zealand singer/songwriter, who has a career spanning music, drama,
modelling, poetry, advertising, television, and performance.
From her two LPs with Dunedin band Cassandra's Ears, to her
critically and commercially successful solo albums, It's My Sin
and
Tremble, Jan has worked at the progressive edge of New Zealand
music her entire life, and continues this process with her recent
alignments to electronic producer Simon Holloway, and her tour
campaign with modern jazzicist Mark de Clive-Lowe.
Jan has also recorded with The Mutton Birds, and Straitjacket Fits,
as well as producing a cabaret show with Mika, appearing on Xena:
Warrior Princess and Shortland St, and touring with musicians as
diverse as Jeff Buckley and The Cure.
She has recently given her time to supporting the Duffy
'Books in
Homes' charity, while writing
her third solo album - hopefully to be
recorded within the next few months.
