"Hey you're everything you dreamed you'd be
what a civilized way to be angry
locked in the attic, starting to panic
wait that's me"
-Chroma Key "Another Permanent Address"

Well, it's been about a year since I've updated this site and a lot has changed. I've graduated from college, packed my bags, and followed the cliched advice of heading west ("that's the best, may be lost but I'm not crazy"). Hey i gotta update this or it gets deleted!

This was supposed to be the time when I released the BBV Years(1997-2000), the sequel to last year's KFC Days (1994-97). However, I'm having some problems determining what I want to put in the BBV Years, and the events are too fresh in my mind. I'm still not comfortable writing about some things that happened during those cloudy, confusing days. Maybe in a couple years, but not right now. Plus I don't have nearly enough pictures or testimonials from key people. I do want to throw in a plug for the collection of stories written at BBV currently being typed into a mini-book, Happiness is a Dirty Whore, that I am accepting preorders for (should be finished in February 2001). While I'm at it, let me also throw in a quick plug to the originator, Sick and Twisted: The KFC Chronicles, which is also currently being developed into both a full-length major motion picture and a series of books. Once the legalities are sorted out between Snewgy D. Productions, Aerial Atrosophies, Inc.; and Sick Puppies, Dead Cats, Inc., we should have a release date.

Soooo... in the spirit of the reality-based TV show craze, I've decided to forge ahead and chronicle the next set of years as they happen, beginning with the first installment of My Desert Life. The first part is mainly an introduction to the place I work, with a little history thrown in for good measure. There will be more parts of the series coming soon. The number of chapters is entirely dependent upon how long I stay out here (hopefully not much longer). The likely sequel, My Homeless Life, or My Mental Institute Life, will be unleashed ("UNLEASHED!!!", no, put the viking cup down, I'm not talking about the band) whenever.

Ok, here's the first part. Recommended accompanying soundtrack is the latest CD from Chroma Key, YOU GO NOW, featuring melancholy moods, phat beats, the "where did he get those samples" you've come to expect from Kevin Moore, and weird-as-funk lyrics. The album focuses largely on traffic and man on the moon, aka "magnificent desolation."

Take the journey
