Playing
together since 1994, The Smokehouse Allstars are an acoustic sextet consisting
of guitar, upright bass, mandolin, Dobro, fiddle, and banjo, and features
two and three part harmony. Their deep love of traditional bluegrass is
evident with the respect they show when playing a Bill Monroe, Flatt and
Scruggs or Stanley Brothers tune. But with an extensive playlist that includes
contemporary bluegrass, "newgrass," as well as new and original acoustic
tunes they can please any audience that appreciates great musicians performing
music they love to play.
"...one of my favorite bands on the circuit...a tight unit, one
with a sense of its own blend and dynamics.... These boys have
been to the woodshed (or, in their case, the smokehouse.).... I
recommend you spend an evening with the Smokehouse Allstars."
-Keith Dudding, host of KDHX 88.1, "Down Yonder"
"Live they are fantastic, they have some of the best three part
harmony in the St Louis area."
-Liz Tiemann, Guest Host, KDHX 88.1
