| Cravin' Melon has been playing together for about 8 years now. I personally started following them about 3 1/2 years ago, before I was old enough to get into the clubs. It was my birthday and I was downtown shooting pool when i remembered a band I had seen play at the park was playing that night at a club down the street known then as "Metropolis". I banged on the door and a guy from the opening band came out. I asked if he could get Cravin' Melon's autographs for me. The man said sure. I was not expecting what was about to happen next. Instead of the guy coming back out a different guy came out and shook my hand. "My name is Doug Jones singer for Cravin Melon," he said. I was shocked at how nice this guy was to come out and recognize a kid not even old enough to get into the show. He gave me some advertisement with their autrographs on it with their e-mail address on it. I went home that night and e-mailed them and talked to their manager Dick Hodgin on aol. I joined the fan club. Then later in the years I joined their street team to help promote them. Now after 8 years of performing they are calling it quits to persue other things in life. You guys will be greatly missed. |
