My name is Lisa a young 51 (I don't look or act my age), and have a daughter (24) and a son (21). He's still into skateboarding. Keith became the proud father of Kylie Ann on September 18, 2008. She weighed 6 lbs 12 oz.
I also have JB, a Congo African Grey (6), and Poppet (5), a Goffin's Cockatoo. JB talks, whistles and makes noises up a storm! Very entertaining. Poppet has learned quite a few tricks. Amazing how intelligent parrots are.
I was certified for open water & Nitrox in June 2005 at Scuba Tiger. My 1st & 2nd certified dives were at Devil's Den, Williston, FL. It is a nice dive spot. I went through 2 of the swim throughs on my 2nd dive & fed the fish underwater. So much fun!! I was sidetracked with cancer and ready to get back in the water. I have been reviewing and visiting a couple of dive shops the last couple of months. It won't be long now before I am diving again. My goal is to do some saltwater diving with Manta Rays.
I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida and still here. I have traveled to some wonderful places but haven't found anywhere I prefer more than Jacksonville...yet. My favorite places so far are Hawaii, Victoria and Vancouver, Canada. I visited Greece in Sept\Oct of 1998 and in the fall of 2000 to the island of Oahu in Hawaii. I visited the Grand Canyon, north & south rims in May 2004. I enjoyed an all day mule ride to the floor of the canyon *OUCH*. Not so sure I will do that again anytime soon but sure am glad I did it this time. Also, visited the painted desert and petrified forest in Arizona. The Hoover Dam & the Glen Powell Canyon Dam are awesome! We saw very little of Las Vegas but saw enough. I only lost $5! I'm such a big gambler. We flew into Vegas at night and the lights are an unbelievably awesome sight.
Thanks to Neil Bennett for introducing me to scuba diving!
I made my 3rd trip to Oahu, Hawaii Nov. 2 - 13, 2006 and had a fantastic time. Since I have seen all or most of the main tourists spots this time I spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool and hiking. The view of the sunsets from Turtle Bay are indescribable - especially with a Mai Tai from Sunset bar!
June 13 -20, 2008 My boyfriend and I headed to Seattle Wa for my great niece's wedding. On Father's day morning we left my sister's house on Bainbridge Island WA to start our vacation. We headed N - NW - S up and around Olympia National Park. We continued our route along the coastline of Oregon. We went as far south as the Redwood Forest in California. All very scenic and beautiful. We then headed towards our goal of seeing Crater Lake in Oregon. It is amazing! Snow over 6ft deep in places around the lake and yes, I threw a couple of snowballs. Oregon is a beautiful state and we plan to go back one day and explore a few more of the hiking trails. After Crater Lake we headed back to Seattle for our flight home. We have begun plans for our next trip. We will be going to Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming sometime in spring/summer 2009.
