So there you have the numbers and specifications.
The Folkes 39, "Rose of Jerichoo, is a strong offshore yacht with a unique hull design giving her outstanding performance under sail or power. Her multiple chine construction providing high initial stability and giving stiffness which contributes greatly to her all around sailing ability.
The rigging has its lines all leading to the cockpit making the sailing of the Rose easy and the line handling simple enough to be handled by one person. The cutter style with its high cut headsails offers exceptional visibility. It has been designed to balance and sail well under main alone and can easily be reefed and therefore handles safely under adverse conditions.
The interior has been customized and is rather special for a sailing yacht of this size. It has sleeping quarters for couples both fore and aft. The table area also converts into a sleeping area accommodating another three people. The Rose is able to sleep 6. There is a hanging locker (clothes closet) in both the central stateroom and forward berth. There is also a linen locker in the forward berth and storage area under the bed. Between the stateroom and forward berth is the large head compartment with a shower. The toilet is the top of the line Imperial
The U-shaped galley is spacious and delightful for the cook to work in. It features a 3-burner alcohol stove with an oven. There is an oversized refrigerator facing a deep stainless steel double sink with both hot and cold-water pressure.
The main salon measures an overwhelming 8' x 11'. Sharing this space is a gigantic dinning area complete with oversize table and a navigation station including a full size sit down chart table with storage under. Since this is a pilothouse there is a steering station aft of the navigation/chart table complete with two battery banks and two instrumentation panels.
To the rear of the main salon is the aft cabin or the main bedroom with a large sleeping area for two separated from the kitchen area by a wall.
The forward anchor locker as well as the rear lazarette has been paneled with wood giving the foam covered steel ample protection.
There are two hatches for light and ventilation. Both are Bomar with the main one in the central lounge being oversize. The cockpit features very comfortable seating with solid teak coamings both on floor and on the seats.

Of course this wonderful person helped make it all happen when we bought the boat and sailed her off into the sunset. Click on her picture to see her in her native Chinese dress.
Yes, we did sell the Rose of Jericho so it no longer sails out of the Corpus Christi area. It was a sad day to wave her good-bye.
