IN MEMORY OF STEVE

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
~A Message From Heaven~
I am not far from you
Just a little way beyond
Past the cares and past the pain
Far past my earthly bonds

When you feel you miss me most
As years go drifting by
Each memory will prove to you
That our love will never die

For memories are but a touch
From the Father's gentle hand
To heal your pain and mend your hearts
To help you understand

That while I left you far too soon
I did not leave alone
For the Father sent His angels
To gently take me home

Take comfort when you think of me
Keep my love alive in your heart
And with the warmth of each memory
We will never be apart.

In facing lines that stretched from the door of the funeral home out to the street, 30 uniformed men and women stood shoulder to shoulder at attention as soldiers carried their comrade's body to the waiting hearse that would lead a half-mile long funeral procession along Route 31 to the cemetary.

On the hillside, a family huddled together under a green canvas canopy, drawing warmth and strength from each other as they faced SFC. Stephen F. Sedore's flag-draped casket. Nearby, seven members of an Army honor guard from Fort Drum stood with rifles, ready to fire the 21-gun salute. A soldier stood at attention, his gleaming brass trumpet tucked under his arm. Soon, the haunting notes of the TAPS floated across the cemetary, across the hayfields and the streams of Clyde, where Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing.
My Brother Steve 12/21/59-To-10/15/95

"Sedore's Sir Thor of Thunder"(Thor)

Steve's dog and constant companion
5/5/89 to 8/25/2002

Just before Steve's death, he ask our sister Bobbie to care for Thor. She lovingly took guardianship of Thor. She loved and cared for him for 8 years until he went home to Steve.

(Thor is now at rest at his master's feet. I buried his ashes by Steve's footmarker.)

GODS GARDEN

God looked around his garden,
and saw an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth
and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you,
and lifted you to rest,
God's garden must be beautiful.
He always takes the best.

He knew you were suffering.
He knew you were in pain.
He also knew in Heaven
you would never hurt again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
and the hills harder to climb.
So he closed your weary eye lids,
and whispered "Peace be thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
If tears could build a staircase,
and memories a lane,
We'd walk all the way to Heaven
and bring you home again.....
We miss you so......
