From Sacramento California..originally from Boston I've been a Laura fan since the early 80's. I was fortunate to have lived in the Boston area where a man named Sonny Jo White was the Program Director at Kiss-108FM. He was a Laura fan from the start. He was playing Gloria before most other stations and kept it in heavy rotation. Because of his loyalty to her she appeared at many of their big concert parties and always stopped by the station to plug her new albums. Unfortunatly, he passed away a few years back. My favorite song of Laura's is "The Power of Love". I was partying with a group of friends when I first heard it and the room went silent as we all became entranced by her incredible voice and the heavy emotions she poured into that song. Why it wasn't a bigger hit I'll never understand. I'm truly nausiated by Celine Dion's version and the fact that it was a bigger hit than Laura's version shows that there is no accounting for people's taste.

I think an online fanclub is a great idea. Maybe if Laura can see how many people really want to hear her music she will start again.

Laura Branigan's "Hold Me" is probably my favorite album in all my music collection because it is one of the few albums that I have that I like every song. I can listen to it all the way through and enjoy the music. Many of my other albums have like a few songs I really enjoy and can't listen to the whole album without thinking to myself, "Well, here comes a song I don't like." I love "Hold Me"s synthesizer sounds and good mix of slow and fast tempo songs on it. Yes, I have a wide variety of music, but "Hold Me" tops it all. So that is an honor because there's a lot of music out there.

I have been a faithful and loyal Laura fan since the early 80's. There's something truly special and magical about this wonderful performer. She's a great role model; while the whole world has come unglued, she seems to have kept her feet on the ground and a level head. I saw her in concert twice and met her once, which I will never forget, and had a front row seat the second time. I've always considered us to be a "fan club" here on the internet and I'm so glad to be a part of such a wonderful thing. Laura, I wish you the best of luck in all you do and maybe if you get the chance to see all of this, you will know that you're really loved and admired by many. I say a prayer for you every day. Whenever you'd like to have your guts scrambled, listen to TI AMO or POWER OF LOVE... at full volume... guaranteed to start the tears every time! I share the same birthdate with Laura, and can understand the passion. I write stories based in/on Vietnam, its warriors, its lovers - the men and women who survived and what it takes to do so. Every story or book I've written has had its beginning in a Laura song. People say my stuff is intensely passionate in emotions; I answer - look at the source! Laura is one of the truly special gifts that God has placed on this planet... can't wait to hear more from her...
