The Life of Joy

I am 48 years old and live in Winter Haven, Florida. I'm a mother, daughter, wife, sister, and a teacher. Of all the hats that I wear, being a mother is the most fulfilling. I love my daughter with all my heart. She has been my life since the day I knew I was pregnant, and she will be my life until the day that I die. My daughter's name is Nicole . She is 21 years old, attending college at Polk Community College and is a cosmetologist. I also look forward to being a grandmother. Since, my daughter is an only child I doubt that I will have that many grandchildren to spoil, but I can always dream.

I have been a widow since 1996, but I have had a new love in my life since 1999 and his name is Fred . We met through the Internet. He lived in Galveston, TX at the time and now lives in Florida with me. I know that some people have some real horror stories about Internet dating, but I was one of the lucky ones.

When I was young and stupid I had gone to college for about three years, but never finished my degree. Late 2000 I decided to return back to college and have completed a Bachelor's degree in Business and a Master's degree in Education within four years. This year makes my fourth year teaching in the public school system. I teach Culinary Operations to students at Winter Haven High School in Winter Haven, Florida.

I really enjoy teaching. It's funny because when I first went to college I was enrolled in education classes and dropped out of them because I was so shy and thought that there was "NO WAY" that I could be in front of a classful of strangers. I'm a very shy person, or at least I used to be. I am taking a year off from college because next summer I want off in order to travel to different parts of the world. I love to travel and experience different people, art, and cultures. I am a person who loves to learn, I'm like a sponge. That is one of the things that I encourage everyone to do, learn everything that you can, whether you retain it or not.....LEARN!
