Welcome to my page! Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Gretchen Albrycht and I am a Third year student at Victoria University of Wellington in Wellington, New Zealand. Well, I am a Political Science major at VUW. I am especially interested in International Politics and Economics. Someday after graduating from Victoria University...I will work in the US State Dept...well hopefully. =)
If you would like to see what I look like.....then click here...=)I am a lingual expert, or so my friends tell me. I speak 3 different languages besides English.They are French,Italian and Japanese. I am in the process of learning Spanish and want to learn Mandarin Chinese. I have been interested in politics since I was a participant in a collegiate program for highly talented high school students in Japanese language and culture during the summer before my Junior year of HS.
You can usually find me on some talkers out there in the internet world. I guess that is one way that I have found to relieve some stress. I am usually very busy with my classwork that keeps me always up to all hours of the night.The links below are just a few of the places you will be able to find me. Well,I am a sports fanatic. I like just about every sport there is. I'm just starting training for my first ever rugby match. I used to play basketball and soccer,where I played Goalie and Fullback in soccer and both forward positions in basketball. I also like the NY Yankees,Boston Celtics and even the NY Jets. My new favorite hockey team, even though the Whalers will ALWAYS be my favorite,is the NJ Devils.I will now be proudly wearing my Devils jersey as well as my Carolina Hurricanes jersey. While in New Zealand, I will proudly be wearing gold and black in support of the Super 12 rugby team from Wellington,the Wellington Hurricanes. Go Hurricanes!!
Well, let me tell you a bit more about me. I am a big music person. I may not be musically inclined but love listening to the stuff.My friends and I have started a musical group called "Dimanche",the French word for Sunday. Some of my favorite artists are The Beatles,Led Zeppelin,Dave Matthews Band, Metallica, No Doubt, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Prodigy. I also have a poetic side.I have been writing poetry since I was in 8th grade. I like hanging out with my friends. I love the arts. Something about them does something to me. I am also big into Politics and Political Debate. I have the dream of either being Prez or Sec. of State. Watch out, Washington DC and the entire world..here I come!!!
