I always do everything in my power to keep my customers happy and I feel my overall feedback record speaks for itself. But I had to respond so that you can beware of this bidder. I'm not sure what's up, since they have previously had good feedback themselves, but their odd behavior and accusations suggest that there may be issues arising. I will not stoop to name calling or lies as the bidder has, but instead will lay out the facts.
- Bidder won a used cassette tape from me for 85 cents. I shipped the item the morning after receiving the payment.
- After receiving, bidder emailed and said I had sent the wrong tape in the right case. I immediately responded to bidder's email, apologized, and IMMEDIATELY sent a refund via PayPal to the email address that the seller had used to pay me via PayPal.
- Several days went by and bidder did not claim funds from PayPal. I thought it was weird, but did nothing different - they could have been on vacation and would claim funds upon return.
- Received an email from bidder blasting me for sending payment to PayPal email address (which, again, is how the bidder had paid me). He said something incoherent to the effect of "PayPal got this email address backwards and now it was spread all over eBay." I have absolutely no idea what he is talking about!
- Demanded that I immediately send refund via US Postal Service, despite the fact that he had paid via PayPal. I agreed immediately, told him to keep the tape and asked to have him send his snail mail address once again so that I could mail him a refund right away.
- Received another flaming email, demanding that I send the refund to the "address I have in my ledger." He said he could not trust me with his address since I had sent his refund via PayPal. I let the bidder know that I did not retain address after transactions were complete. I again reiterated that I'd be happy to send funds if they sent me their snail mail address.
- Another flaming email, paranoidly complaining that I was spreading his email address around eBay and the Internet (I have NO idea what this guy is talking about!). I have never done anything other than respond to his emails and send the funds via PayPal to the email address he paid me with.
- I was beginning to get suspicious myself - was this person mentally ill, trying to scam me out of a measly amount of money, or both? Finally, I told bidder to go ahead and leave negative feedback.
- The emails the person sent were very incoherent, paranoid and accusing. I felt it was better to receive the negative feedback than to continue arguing with this person.
I just wanted to get this out there so you could make an informed decision when you deal with this guy.
As I said, my feedback speaks for itself. It's frustrating to have every intention of doing the right thing and to be thwarted by -- of all people -- the customer.
