Shown: Two 7"D dessert plates cut by T. G. Hawkes & Company in the early to mid 1890s, together with a modern Chinese cut-glass paperweight of optic lead glass. The plates, in the Venetian and Gladys patterns, are in excellent condition and are typically priced at $250 and $125, respectively. The Venetian pattern is considered rare.
The completely faceted paperweight is not for sale by AG but is widely available nationally, usually for $10 to $20, depending upon its size; discounts are usually offered. This contemporary weight is from China and is being made in various colors; quality is high (Image: JMH).
