RezInk : My life on the Reservation.
I live on the Leech Lake Reservation.  I am a tribal member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
I am a full time college student at Bemidji State University.  I am a double major.  My majors are in Mass Communications in Public Relations and Fine Arts degrees.
I meet Choupique online at WBS Native Chat.  We conversed online for 1 1/2 years before we met in person.  We met and were enjoying our visit when my sister Diane (according to TJ, my nephew) made a pass at Choupique.  He declined her invitation and she threw him out of our home.  Because I refuse to tell him to leave our place, she threw me out of the house.
Choupique and I moved into the one room log cabin located on the island where my parent's house was on.  Choupique had just put all his money into the family van to get a new motor.  The van broke down and Choupique paid for a complete overhaul.  So, he was strapped for cash.
He was hired at Northern Lights Casino as a coin changer and he worked to get money so he could move on.  Which was our plan.  He was only here for a two week visit and then he was going to Nova Scotia.
We ended up moving in together in the one room log cabin that I used for my art studio.  My mom and dad gave it to me so I could work on my art and sell it from the cabin.
Choupique started work at the casino and I started looking for a job.  He showed me a job opening for a new division for Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.  The job called for someone who knew the ojbwe culture and had experiance and training in computer, media techology.  This is something I was working on with Little Bay Arts & Crafts.  I was building a Native Artist Co-op and Cultural preservation by hosting workshops, tradeshows, websites for local native artists.  So, I applied for the job and hired in October 1998.   But, I wasn't called to work until December 1998, due to politics.
With both of us working, we were able to add on a kitchen and bathroom and winterize the cabin. We  lived together and fell in love with each other.  If it had not been for Diane's jealous actions that threw Choupique and I together, we would never have fell in love and married.
As we prospered and began to make improvements to our home, Diane began to attack us.
First, we thought a animal was coming into the cabin and ripping up Choupique's pillow.  We later figured out it was Diane coming in and ripping up his pillow.  Because after we moved to a different place, we would come home and find his pillow ripped up and she left a box of my UNDERWARE in our driveway!!!  Fucking wacked woman.
