Hi! I'm Ilene Rachel...Welcome to my page.


I have created this site in order to share poetry I have written. Most, but not all (e.g.: Romantic Interlude), of my poetry is of a personal nature. Some of my poems reflect emotions events in my life have created within me, so some may seem depressing. Please try to understand where I was coming from.

I cannot guarantee you that you will like any of my poems, but I hope you will!




A Little About Me


Forty-nine year old wife, mother of two teenagers, and teacher of two-year-olds, I am also a Late Discovery Adoptee. I found out I was adopted in February of 1996 and found my birth mother in March of 1998. (My adoption story can be found at: IRM's Story.) I love to read; write poetry; watch StarTrek, Sliders, and Babylon 5; and listen to contemporary Country Music. I am also actively involved in the movement to allow adult adoptees access to their records, and coordinated a site for both RegDay98 and RegDay99 (to promote a free registry, the International Soundex Reunion Registry).

To be quite honest, I have not been writing poetry for very long. In fact, except for one poem (Confusion), I really started writing right after I found out I was an adoptee! So please bear with me as I develop my talent!

I hope you will enjoy my site, and I will try to update it as frequently as possible. So come back soon!
